I'm so beyond glad to be almost finished with the semester! Looking back, I'm proud of all the progress that I've made in this class and all of my others! It's looking like I'm coming out with pretty good grades, though I don't want to jinx it by saying it, but it's a nice feeling. For this class specifically, I've enjoyed getting to write weekly and get back into doing so on a regular basis. I like to write, so I think it's useful to write often. Even if I didn't like to write, I think it's useful. I've enjoyed being able to connect with other students during the course of the semester. I frequently would miss doing project feedback because I'm awful, but I would read some of the stories. Why I didn't just comment anyway, the world may never know. I’m still really enjoying reading other people’s writing! I don’t remember the exact person, but I read one today that was written just so well. The descriptions were so nice and everything was really thoughtfully done. I always feel like the best source for inspiration in writing is reading! It always makes me want to do better with my own work when I get to read good stories. I think what made their story so successful was the detail that they put into their descriptions. I could tell that they had put a lot of care into that particular piece. It was a joy to read. I did a few revisions on my project for this last week. The original really didn’t explain things as well as I had liked, so I fixed it up a little bit. I always really enjoy being descriptive with my writing, but sometimes it’s difficult telling a large story with a word maximum. I’d like to find a happy medium in the future. It’s been a long week! I’ve been enjoying reading about Krishna, but I think I might switch over to the other topic for this upcoming week, but I haven’t decided for sure yet. I really enjoy how often music comes up in certain legends, or a certain character specializes in a specific instrument. I just think it’s neat to see. In storytelling, it’s nice to see other forms of storytelling overlap! I didn’t do much writing this week, but I’m liking how my storybook project is coming along. Though I’m making this post immediately after writing my new entry… we’ll see how I feel about it later. I do like it though, overall. That still stands. I don’t have a hard time writing it, which usually means that I’m enjoying the work I’m doing! I also like getting to see how everyone else’s projects are coming along. It is only week 4 and I am tired! This class is fine though. I’m enjoying getting to do things at a time that works for me. This week we finished Ramayana reading and it was sad. I didn’t like the ending! I did not like how Rama treated Sita with the fire trial and that sort of was like… okay. I think besides that, I’m glad I got the chance to read it. I’ve enjoyed watching these characters and learning more about Indian epics and culture. I’ve always been fascinated by mythology and I’ve never really had the time to learn more about my own culture (for reference, I’m also of Indian descent!) I’ve been enjoying reading other classmate’s writings as well. I like seeing their creativity! Everyone here is very talented and offer unique takes on the characters and stories, I’m always excited to see where they take me this week!
