Week 8 Progress

Image
Looking Back- I'm happy with my progress so far. I do know I missed a couple of assignments, but I'm still at an A, so I'm fine. I'm going to be done with two of my courses this week which will give me more time to get ahead in this class, which is about what I expected from the beginning. At the beginning, I said that I'd do assignments on MWF, but as it turns out, I have so much free time at work, I just do it TR. It makes it easier, but it does give me less time sometimes. I'm happy with the schedule I have though. Looking Forward- Because I'm only going to be in three courses following midterms, I don't really see any problems. My hardest part of the semester was the first half because my other online courses were WAY more involved than this one. I should have more time to devote to my writing assignments. I hope to see a quality jump there! Moomin hugging a tree  (Source) I don't have an explanation for the picture. I just like Moomin...

Reading Notes: PDE Mahabharata D

Image
This is so late! Wow! better late than never right? So, for this reading, we finish the Mahabharata! We get to see the thrilling conclusion of all of the fights and struggles between the two families. I've already done the reading prior to the notes, so I already know what I'm going to do my notes on but!!! What an exciting/sad section! Arjuna & Karna by Donald A. MacKenzie Karna dies :( Arjuna shoots him fatally. War was being waged all around them. Karna's arrows were described as snakes, drinking blood and one of them struck Arjuna's Gandiva, which the string broke. Arjuna told him to stop because of honor or something, but Karna didn't listen and wounded Arjuna. Arjuna managed to resting his bow and was very angry when he was able to attack again. Neither side would let up. Karna was not swayed by Arjuna's intensity. Unfortunately, his chariot wheel got stuck in the ground. Karna was like, "hey don't shoot me. It's wrong to shoot someone ...

Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Image
Feedback In- The comments that I like the best and find the most useful are the ones that are constructive criticism mixed with compliments. I like when I can tell that someone has put thought into how I can improve. I'm less of a fan of the pickier ones. I don't think any of us are perfect writers. I just found those to be more of a downer than they were helpful. I don't appreciate someone assuming they know where I'm going with something or that I haven't put in a lot of thought into my writing. I don't know, it's like... take it easy. I also appreciated when they were not as serious. I generally don't take myself as serious, I appreciate when someone can tell that about me as well! Feedback Out- I'll be the first to say that I'm awful at feedback. I just try to find things that I like about a piece and share that with the author, so they can hopefully keep doing that in the future. I realize that doesn't give them much room to improve, b...

Week 8 Reading and Writing

Image
I wish I had more to say here! I don't have any major changes that I wanted to make to my blog. I set it up a little bit before school started in a way that I knew I would like and would be consistently happy with. I'm easily able to navigate it, which I feel is the most important because I'm very tech dumb. I like my writing assignments, though I did miss a story on accident. That's okay, I'm sure I'll survive! I think writing everyday tires me out sometimes, but I still enjoy it. I think I'm having the hardest time with my project because I'm a perfectionist and would like to please everyone, though I'm aware that's impossible. I like the writing that I've done though. I really don't find any issues with it outside of a few things that I can fix with revisions. Overall, I'm happy with my progress in this class and with my writing!
